Banach-Saks property in Marcinkiewicz spaces

We catalogue all Marcinkiewicz function and sequence spaces with the Banach-Saks property and present necessary and sufficient conditions for a wide subclass of spaces to possess the p-Banach-Saks property, 1<p<∞. We apply our results to several open problems.

本文研究了混合范数空间Ｈ（ｐ，ｑ，ａ）中解析函数ｆ的Ｔａｙｌｏｒ系数，对０＜ｐ≤２，０＜ｑ＜∞，ａ＞０和２≤ｐ＜∞，０＜ｑ＜∞，ａ＞０两种情形，分别给出了ｆ属于Ｈ（ｐ，ｑ，ａ）的必要条件和充分条件。用上述结果我们还得到了几个关于混合范数空间的乘子定理，这些结果也推广了Ｈａｒｄｙ和Ｌｉｔｔｌｅｗｏｏｄ关于Ｈ＾ｐ空间的相应结论。

Generalizations of a Theorem of Datko and Pazy

This note gives necessary and sufficient conditions for exponential stability of semigroups of linear operators in Banach spaces. Generalizations of a well-known result due to Datko, Pazy and Neerven are obtained for the case of semigroups of operators that are not strongly continuous.

Hardy spaces of spaces of homogeneous type

Let be a space of homogeneous type, and be the generator of a semigroup with Gaussian kernel bounds on . We define the Hardy spaces of for a range of , by means of area integral function associated with the Poisson semigroup of , which is proved to coincide with the usual atomic Hardy spaces on spaces of homogeneous type.

     

Commutators of fractional integral operators on Vanishing-Morrey spaces

In this note we prove a sufficient condition for commutators of fractional integral operators to belong to Vanishing Morrey spaces VL ^p,λ. In doing this we use an extension on Morrey spaces of an inequality by Fefferman and Stein concerning the sharp maximal function and the fractional maximal function and related Morrey inequalities.      

Embedding with a Lipschitz function

We investigate a new notion of embedding of subsets of {?1,1}ⁿ in a given normed space, in a way which preserves the structure of the given set as a class of functions on {1, …, n}. This notion is an extension of the margin parameter often used in Nonparametric Statistics. Our main result is that even when considering “small” subsets of {?1, 1}ⁿ, the vast majority of such sets do not embed in a better way than the entire cube in any normed space that satisfies a minor structural assumption. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
